Island portfolio DirectorThe Trustees of ReservationsDarci is currently the Islands Portfolio Director for The Trustees of Reservations overseeing its Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket operations including 14 miles of pristine barrier beaches, 2,200 acres of exceptional ecological spaces and 70 seasonal and year-round staff. For over 25 years, she has dedicated her career to conservation, parks and open space, natural solutions to climate and non-profit leadership.
She has created nearly 1,300 acres of new parks worth $28 million in Southern New England and raised $24 million in capital to acquire land for conservation. Additionally, she developed an urban agriculture economy and farms in Massachusetts and directed over 20 cities in spatial planning, stakeholder development, and implementation of climate-smart parks using green infrastructure and nature-based solutions. Darci published 15 plans on climate-smart parks, climate vulnerability and natural resilience, provided research and technical assistance to U.S. Park and Recreation agencies advancing park access for equity, health, and resilience. Darci has a BA in Environmental Science from Boston University, MS in Forest Ecosystem Science from the University of Maine, Orono, and is certified in Leadership and Negotiation from Harvard Law School. |
