Clinical nurse educator- Emergency DepartmentDartmouth Hitchcock Medical CenterI graduated nursing school from DeSales University in Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. After one year in a medical-surgical unit, I quickly became interested in emergency medicine. My emergency medicine career then started at Einstein Medical Center, a Level 1 trauma center in Center City, Philadelphia. I honed my skills at Einstein before exploring the country as a travel nurse with my husband during the COVID-19 pandemic.
While traveling, I obtained my Master of Science in Nursing: Nursing Leadership in Health Care Systems and my Master of Business Administration. Our travel assignments took us to the land of pizza and lighthouses in Connecticut, followed by the surfing paradise of California. We stopped a few times in Vegas… cause why not? We finished our travels, spending a winter throwing ourselves off snowy cliffs on our snowboards in Utah. Once we got our travel fill, we sent it back home to settle on the East Coast, where we left Philadelphia to chase the adventure lifestyle in Vermont. We bought our first home in Vermont and have lived the dream ever since. Currently, I am a Clinical Nurse Educator in the emergency department at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center. My days include clinical nursing while also educating our new and current staff on best practices and identifying knowledge gaps. Education is my passion, and this career path has allowed for creativity and fostering an environment of personal and career development amongst my peers. Lastly, in July of 2024, we welcomed our first baby! Lately, life has been a balancing act between my Doctorate of Nurse Practice program, career, family, and motherhood. I would not change it for the world (: |
