Operation Sight Program Manager

American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery

After graduating with a bachelor's degree from the University of New Hampshire in May 2001, she began a career in ophthalmology.  Ms. Duval refers to herself as a 'homegrown leader', having risen through the ranks of the organization because of hard work, leadership, and continued learning, eventually earning the Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) credential, a clinical certification. Her role in the practice evolved many times since beginning her career in 2001, including but not limited to, overseeing staff at two locations as part of the Administrative Team, as well as serving as Marketing and Business Development Director.

In October 2020, Sarah earned the elite Certified Ophthalmic Executive credential through the American Society of Ophthalmic Administrators (ASOA) and was soon after elected to the National Board for the Certification of Ophthalmic Executives (NBCOE), even holding Board offices. She is a member of Women in Ophthalmology, Ophthalmic World Leaders, and the American Society of Ophthalmic Administrators, serving on many committees.
She has authored many articles for Administrative Eyecare magazine. Sarah has been a lecturer at the ASOA annual meeting on more than one occasion and has participated in panel discussions on webinars, roundtables, and ophthalmology business meetings. Ms. Duval is the co-host of a podcast called The Ophthalmology Business Academy, which helps practice leaders and doctors develop their ideal practices.

Ms. Duval is also active in her community, having served as an elected member of her local school board. She lives in a small New Hampshire town outside of Concord with her teenage son, John.
