FounderIntentional ClassroomMichelle has consulted with schools and learning centers in the United States, China, Dubai, and India. She has over twenty years of experience in public and independent classrooms and is a graduate of Harvard's Women in Education Leadership Program, Antioch New England's Environmental Studies Master's Program and she holds a B.S. in Education and English from the University of Rhode Island. She served as the Director of Environmental Education at Northfield Mount Hermon School and held the Executive Director position at Oak Meadow, leading the homeschool curriculum provider to become the first NEASC accredited distance learning school. She has collaborated with established and emerging schools around the globe, supporting them in adopting hybrid models of teaching and learning—onsite and at a distance.
Presenting on tradition and innovation in K-12 education at conferences like SxSWedu, OESIS, National Association of Independent Schools, National Partnership for Educational Access, Children & Nature Network, and Vermont Businesses for Social Responsibility, she has provided thought leadership in the progressive, experiential education, and distance learning sector for the past decade. Her writing has appeared in Independent Ideas, Living Education, and parent.co. She lives in Vermont with her family, enjoys gardening, permaculture, slow food, yoga, and wrestling with big questions. She believes every child deserves a beautiful education. |
