Associate director of NursingMassachusetts Nurses AssociationMary Sue Howlett, PhD, FNP-BC, CEN has worked in the healthcare industry for more than 40 years. Her current role is as an Assocaite Director in the Division of Nursing at the Massachusetts Nurses Association where she provides clinical consults, nursing education, and reviews legislation for the potential impact on healthcare. With a PhD in Nursing focused on Health policy, Mary Sue's interests include nursing and healthcare workforce.
She is a faculty member of the University of Massachusetts Boston Manning College of Nursing and Health Sciences where she developed a collaboration with a residential treatment program for substance use disorder. Residents of the program work with students in the nursing program for bidirectional benefit- students learn to work with patients with SUD and the residents learn to work within the healthcare system to manage acute and chronic disease. |
