VP secure payments teamFRB BostonMarianne Crowe has been at the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston for 23 years. She has focused her career on financial services, including check operations, retail and consumer services, mobile and digital payments, and more recently on industry analysis related to payments fraud and security.
As vice president of Payment Strategies, Marianne oversaw industry analysis and applied research on digital and mobile retail payments, standards, and security initiatives. She worked closely with payments industry stakeholders to identify barriers and opportunities for mobile payment adoption, as well as examine benefits and risks to consumers and other stakeholders. Marianne also convened a Mobile Payments Industry Workgroup (MPIW) that was comprised of industry experts from banking, card networks, merchants, payment processors and others for 10 years to collaborate on innovative strategies for increasing the adoption of mobile payments. She was also a payments liaison supporting the Federal Reserve’s Secure Payments Taskforce and co-chaired the System Payments Standards Leadership Team. Prior to her current Fed role, she served as AVP for Check Image Services and Check Operations, VP of Retail Business Development and Emerging Payments, and VP and payments liaison for the Consumer Payments Research Center. Before working at the Fed, Marianne worked for almost 20 years at Bank of Boston (now part of Bank of America), managing operations projects related to bank mergers, consolidations, and check image implementations. In addition to her contributions to the Bank’s business lines, Marianne was a longstanding member of the Fed’s Management Council and chair for 3 years. |
