She graduated from UVM in 2018 with an honors degree in biology and minors in mathematics and Chinese and was elected to the Vermont House of Representatives that same year. At 23 years old, Lucy was one of the youngest Representatives in the nation. She was also the first woman elected to represent her district in nearly 100 years.
While serving two terms in the Vermont House (2019-2023), Lucy helped lead the legislature's Rural Economic Development Caucus, co-founded the Social Equity Caucus, and served as Vermont's liaison to the National Conference of State Legislatures. In her community, she was a founding board member of Lamoille FiberNet Communications Union District, which is actively building out fiber-optic internet service to every address in the rural county, and a board member of the conservation nonprofit Cold Hollow to Canada. Lucy currently serves as a trustee of University of Vermont (term: 2021-2027) and works as an independent consultant. She is committed to furthering her academic interest in wildlife biology. She enjoys milking her Guernsey cow, running, and spending time with friends and family. |
