Director of Performing ArtsStudentLauren Borodenko is currently an arts educator, musician and the Director of Performing Arts at Shanghai American School Pudong in Shanghai, China. She is an experienced PYP, MYP and DP music and theatre teacher who is committed to developing vibrant arts communities. She is passionate about creating opportunities across age levels for students to engage in authentic, collaborative experiences rooted in the IB arts curricula.
Lauren is originally from Vermont, USA and has experience teaching and leading music and theatre in the United States and in international schools in Nigeria, South Africa and China. Ms. Borodenko has worked for the past 10 years with the IBO curriculum development team for the new iteration of the DP Music Curriculum. She is fortunate to be able to share her love for music teaching and learning through DP workshops and professional learning communities. She is a graduate of the University of Vermont and earned a Masters of Music in Music Education from Boston University. Ms. Borodenko enjoys experimenting with world instruments and has studied dizi, xiao and kora. |
