The Jackson LaboratoryLaura Muller, Director, STEM and Undergraduate Education, came to The Jackson Laboratory with 26 years of experience in Higher Ed; as a faculty member in Chemistry departments at Boston College (1995-1998), at Wheaton College (MA) (1998-2016) and then as Director of Quantitative Skills Programs at Williams College (2016-2021). Laura has an undergraduate degree in Mathematics from Bard College, and a Ph.D. in Chemical Physics from the University of Texas at Austin.
Laura’s current work builds on her experience working with undergraduate researchers in her lab - she now oversees programs like The Jackson Laboratory Summer Student Program that give high school and college students opportunities to work with and learn from JAX researchers as well as from the larger JAX research-adjacent or research-supporting community. She takes great pleasure in seeing people become excited about their own knowledge and abilities even as they expand their scientific boundaries. |
