Director of Program Management – Maritime and Customer IT ServicesKVH IndustriesHeather Hartman is the Director of Program Management, Maritime & Customer IT Services at KVH Industries. She is responsible for leading complex, multi-disciplinary projects as well as leading process improvement initiatives. Previously, Heather served as a senior PMO director responsible for oversight and best practices for over 100 project managers for a leading IT services provider. As the director of IS Technical Services at the second largest hospital system in RI she oversaw 34 full-time professionals, with the primary role was being the development of tactical plans in support of system-wide business objectives and participation in IT strategic planning. Heather led several process improvement initiatives and developed workshops and courses centered on process improvement. She also created a Six Sigma Green Belt Certification Program and was a Leadership Seminar facilitator. Heather has volunteered on several board of directors for local non-profit organizations.
Heather’s active certifications include, Portfolio Management Professional (PfMP), Project Management Professional (PMP), certified Process Master and she is a Six Sigma Black Belt. She earned her MBA in computer information systems at Bryant University. Heather received the 2010 CIO Ones to Watch awards from IDG's CIO magazine and CIO Executive Council. In 2011, Heather received the Rhode Island Tech10 Award. Heather belongs to various community organizations including Save the Bay, Friends of Acadia, and volunteers for several industry advisory boards. She resides in Portsmouth, Rhode Island, with her husband and two Labrador retrievers. She is a certified scuba diver and enjoys reading, knitting/crocheting and hiking and other outdoor activities. |
